James Cameron's, Avatar. I've been hearing about this one for years. Here's a link to some concept art.

The place looks like the Wookie planet in Star Wars. It's in post production now according to imbd. Haven't seen anything from Cameron in quite awhile so I'm psyched!

AS WELL! This is the only other 2009 release that's for me an absolute 'must see'. If the rumors are to be believed it will be quite the revolutionary film. That said of any other film maker I'd say "Yeah right." But of Cameron, man oh man! It could very well be true! He's done it before and I've every confidence he'll do it again. Sci-fi from James Cameron is always something to look forward to. Sigourney Weaver and the all so drool inducing Zoe Saldana's in it! For a skinny woman that lady really launches my rocket!:drool5::001_tt1:

I'm looking forward to this as well. I've rarely disliked anything James Cameron created.

Yeah its a project that's been gestating for years. Like the Trek film it was supposed to be released last December but unlike Trek its release was postponed due to the immensity of the ground-breaking project and Cameron's legendary perfectionism. Seven months and counting!

He spent years developing the technology to put the CGI backgrounds in as the actors were working so he can see what it will look like finished.

I'm definitely really looking forward to seeing what he's done. He honestly has never made a film I didn't really enjoy.

Terminator = ripoff of Outer Limits' episode "Soldier"
Aliens = Ripoff of Heinlien's "Starship Troopers"
Abyss = Ripoff of Crichtion's "Sphere"

And now this one...

He may be an amazingly visual filmmaker, but his stories need to be more frackin' original!

That's really not a big problem for me.

Abyss may have been a Sphere rip off in parts but it was a way better film than Levinson's adaption.

Of the ones I've seen (all but Pirahna 2), the only two Cameron films I don't like are True Lies and The Abyss (just too long and boring for me).

The theatrical cut is very weak, the 1992 special edition is a vast improvement, but even longer.

Can't say I've ever seen the theatrical cut. Depends on which one they constantly show on Encore over here in the US. I just lose interest in the movie, and haven't ever been able to sit through the entire thing.
