I think it's like comapring apples and organes. Shatner's Kirk was a product of the 1960's TV hero vision. Pine's Kirk is a 2009 movie scale action/adventure hero. I saw more than one "Shaterism" in Pine's perfomace. But that was with all the charaters. It was obvious they had studied the original actors, but added their own takes on it.
