Wallpapers of the Big-E

I was wondering if any plans were in the works to release some pretty new wallpapers featuring the new Enterprise in all its glory. I have never been partial to having actor's faces as my desktop wallpaper, but enjoy high resolution images of star trek ships. Could we possibly get some renders of the new ship from various angles and amid different space-scapes? Not necessarily screenshots, although they would be cool also. A nice high-res image of the Enterprise emerging from Titan's ring would be great!

Thanks!

might be right up your alley. My personal Website also has a wallpapers section, the link is here:

I'm always on the lookout for good, high resolution pictures from Trek. The overabundance of "cartoony" and "video game" looking wallpapers from this rich universe was a big part of why I started this little side hobby. NONE of my wallpapers are cartoony. NONE of them are loaded with unreadable "fine print." ALL of them are photorealistic, or I try my best to get them to that level.

Enjoy!

Those are nice, and I have a great many already in my collection. Thank you, though. I was only asking about the actual brand new ship from the new movie. There are so few shots of the actual movie render available on the internet. Screen shots are often blurry to the point that I do not want them as my wallpaper. The image of the Enterprise leaving spacedock is very nice, but it is so blurry that it looks like a tiny image blown up to look bigger.

I am specifically looking for the new JJ-style Enterprise in various images that show it's features and beauty.

Ummmm.... Blurry?

No, I didn't enlarge the images. That's the first rule of making wallpapers and other graphics. "Blowing up" is a big no no, as the image degradation is way too noticeable. In the two images of the Enterprise leaving spacedock (one of which is a very high resolution .png image), the ship itself is very much in focus. But, since she is about to kick some serious warp speed tail, the spacedock is a bit blurred. There's nothing I can do about that, but I wouldn't say that it is "blown up so bad" that it cannot be used.

I'm still trying to find more shots of her....

I certainly meant no criticism...I am only a detail-freak.

If you see some of the wallpaper images produced at Lightworks (he made his own model to do images with) of the new Enterprise, the detail and lines are so super crisp. I just didn't know if the movie producers had made any such-detailed images of the actual studio render. Converting from a film to static image is always tough.

Ok fair enuff Scrap what i wrote

Another suggestion - guests and other users could include a photo like Den did above - it would be nice to SEE who is talking.

PS Den, how did you do that by the way?

It would be nice if that occurred by the time DVD is released.:001_smile:
