Shatner could be in furture films since the timeline has changed, I guess. I have no desire at all to see him again, to tell you the truth. I've been pretty disappointed in his reaction to the movie. His lack of support, his whining on-line, his snubbing the premier. Right now, Chris Pine is Captain Kirk to me.

It's been suggested, by Nimoy I think, that Shat was having a bit of fun with the media. He's not above that sort of thing, you know.

Maybe George Takei was right about Shatner all these years.

It woudln't have worked because Spock went to Romulus after Kirk went to the Nexus.

I presume a nexus is in the new timeline. Soran did say "time has no meaning".
