Sybok

Think we'll get a glimpse of Sybok during the "Spock's youth" scenes?

Doubtful, as Sybok was the offspring of Sarek and a Vulcan princess, not Amanda, Spock’s mother. It’s likely that Sybok was raised by his mother. Or the monks. He could’ve been raised by the monks.

The story of Sybock and Spock is not unlike the story of Ishmael and Isaac from the Bible. Sybock was kept at a very long distance from the fam.

Sybok will be Trek's version of Richie Cunningham's brother. One day he went upstairs and was never heard from again. Ever.

Sybok mother died when he was a small child than Sarek married Amanda and had Spock. By this time in the movie Sybok would be in his exile from Vulcan. Sybok was a few years older than Spock who was a young adult in the film. In the Final frontier spock did not recognise Sybok at first, only when Sybok told him who he was did spock remember him.

^ The film shows Spock as a nipper as well, but I hope Sybok is not mentioned, he is a character best forgotten IMHO.

He recognized Sybok, he just didn't believe his eyes at first: Qua se tu?

I'm only going to say this once.
I don't care about Sybok.

kevin 11-26-2008 10:08 AM

I've always wondered if he was one of the elements that Gene Roddenberry thought apocryphal about V, and I have a suspicion there will be no mention of him in this film.

Saquist 11-26-2008 10:10 AM

Along those lines...I must now ask...
Why would anyone care?

Is this another canon question?
