Cardassian Sunrise?!

I thought the Cardassians were unknown in the 23rd century...

They weren't known at all til TNG retconned an entire 20 year war with them, who knows when they made first contact!!!

What is the source of your exclamation?

Mine? Simply put, that the jarring introduction in season 4 of TNG meant that for the first 3 seasons of TNG the Federation had been fighting an entire war that had never been mentioned before. They were hastily written into the 24th Century, why not the 23rd as well.

While it's true that there was never any previous mention of the Cardassians until their first appearance in TNG's "The Wounded," the same was true of the Klingons in TOS' "Errand of Mercy" and they were later made out to be one of the Federation's oldest enemies afterwards.

Subsequent TNG episodes gave a bit more background on the Cardassians, including that Spock and Sarek had a major difference of opinion over the Federation's initial dealing with them possibly sometime in the mid to early 24th-Century...

I wonder what the ingredients of a Cardassian Sunrise are.
:hat:

Sorry, his... Why is he talking about Cardassia?

The Cardassian Sunrise thing didn't bother me when I read the clip descriptions. The "Budweiser Classic" pissed me off. Product placement, really?

You are roughly 20 years too late.

Let's start it off here:

Michelob Beer
Apple Computers
Commodore Computers (okay not so much, but yeah.)
Kraft Foods
Etc, etc.
Steppenwolf
Roy Orbison

Yep, no reason the same couldn't apply to Cardassia.
