Yet a third version. I imagine it would focus on the destruction of the colonies and Galactica's escape into deep space. If they do it, I hope they do it justice.

The rebooted show was great. Caprica was good too, they should have given it more time to find itself.

Agreed. Not sure if this version will go harken back to the original. Hope not. The last incarnation was absolutely spot on.

Ha how can they reboot a reboot? Seems bizarre when hardly anytime has passed since the end of the last incarnation.

Bean counters will milk anything and everything for more cash or a write-off!

so they are not saying if it will follow Larson's original version, or the 2003 reboot?

Captain Tom Coughlin 04-23-2014 08:35 PM

Yes, it will be a third version. Another reboot.

Except it's got Glenn Larson on it as producer. So if anything it will harken back 'more' to the '70s version than the Moore/Icke reboot.

I think the last time Larson was directly involved, he wanted to make a 'sort-of' sequel to the original series, revolving around the BS Pegasus. His enthusiasm was renewed following Wing Commander of all things (that movie you maybe saw in hopes of catching a Phantom Menace trailer back in the day). Presumably time will have forced Larson to gain a sense of practicality. If Universal wants to make a movie franchise, they'll want to do it big. That means reboot.

I wonder though if this is the same movie Singer was supposed to 'eventually' direct, just under new management. Not that I want him to save his career at this point. Let him self-destruct.

To bad it looks like Transcendence isn't worth seeing. Not a very positive sign (for this or Prometheus).

Is it just me who thinks this will never get anywherr anytime soon? I mean it's been floated for years, including prior to the series reboot and it never seems to go anywhere.

Don't know the latest on the Prometheus sequel (other than a reported 2016 release date set) but I saw Transcendence and while the film is possesed of ideas about the Technological Singularity and a couple other things it's not a good movie that's been built around them. At all.
