Cosmos?

Here is a video with Neil deGrasse Tyson, Brannon Braga and others about the former's "remake" of Sagan's classic Cosmos series: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfUuj0YLmMg

I've been watching. So far it's been pretty good. It seems like it's getting more in depth as it goes along. This past week touched on Trek 09 in a indirect sort of way. They were discussing what may happen beyond the event horizon of a black hole and brought up the theory that spacetime is so warped in on itself that if you could survive traveling past the horizon you could emerge anywhere in space and time.

I really like Cosmos so far and yeah, it does seem to get more in depth as it goes along. Has made me want to go back and watch Tyson's show Inexplicable Universe.

Anybody catch the pilot of Braga's new tv show, Salem? It's available for free viewing on Hulu and Amazon.com.

It's a fictional historical drama that focuses on the Salem witch trials held in Salem, Massachusetts during the 17th century. It's contention is that there were real witches in Salem and in Braga's historical fiction, they were running the trials.

Only one episode has aired so far. I liked it, I found some of the main characters to be quite interesting, but I would say it ignores the sexual political dimension of the real Salem witch trials. It's definitely more fictional than fact, and very sensationalized.
