If Odo Infiltrated DS9

If Odo had done what Rom had attempted to do while the station was still under Dominion rule, would they still have arrested him and sentence him to execution? I personally think that the Female Shifter would have found an excuse to let him go. I mean, with the way Wayoun worshiped him and the way the Founder kept trying to return him to the Great Link, I couldn't imagine them killing Odo. The saying goes, "No Changeling has ever harmed another." At the same time, I'm sure there are exceptions.

I do not think they would have executed him, no. Punished him in some way, perhaps. They may have done something awful, like kill Kira as a way to punish him. But whatever thing they did, it would not cause direct physical harm to ODO. That isn't how they deal with other changlings

I'd rather think it wouldn't even occur to the changelings to harm Kira as punishment for Odo's behavior. Because they would be too blindsighted in their own disregard for 'lesser' beings to have that kind of insight into another of their kind who did not share the same disregard.

And it would perhaps convince Odo that his kind is more important that any soild, even one that he cares about.

but that level of insight would be required by nature to achieve the type of infiltration they have been shown to be capable of. it is that which makes them so dangerous. And, given their goals and their conception of the solids, killing Kira would be nothing to them if it achieved a goal with Odo. I like when fiction takes ideas to their natural conclusion, and to me DS9 shows us that the changlings see solids as nothing but something to hold down, to kill one to keep one of their own in line.............................. it's not enough to look like that which you wish to become, but to understand how it thinks and what it wants.

It's interesting how they have the ability to turn their own into solids. For example, when Odo was punished for his actions and thus turned solid for a time being. It seems the Changelings have more abilities then they were led to believe. Or perhaps the Founder has more abilities since she is seen as a god afterall.
