TNG bridge restoration project

No kidding. It's happening. One of the old 1701-D bridge sets that had been sitting outdoors for five years and was just going to be trashed has been rescued, money is coming in from supporters, there is cooperation from Paramount, museums are interested, and there is even talk of restoring some of the other TNG sets, as well--unless this video is a cruel hoax.

Check it out:

Restoring the Star Trek: The Next Generation Enterprise Bridge

What if some people would prefer to have some of those sets (not the bridge, obviously) restored instead to their TMP state? Or their TWOK state? Or their TUC state? I mean there's only one of each set, right? :001_tongue:

I like Wrath of Khan state, pesonally

Pardon my ignorance, but what happened to the TOS sets of ENT: In a Mirror, Darkly?

Were there even sets for most of that stuff? They were probably able to reassemble part of the bridge set from 'Relics', but of course I'm totally guessing here.

As do I. With the warmer lighting plus all the flashy lights and do-dads Nick Meyer had rented and added on.

Really, that was pretty much the last we saw of most of those sets prior to the TNG redress, wouldn't you say? I mean unless there was more STIII stuff on the cutting room floor that I don't know about.

Somebody had built an entirely new TOS bridge, I'm not sure if it was the production team or a fan-effort.

But it had new things like the red barrier going around the bridge was curved instead of having sharp corners and stuff.

It wasn't shabby.

I'd love everything to be restored to its TNG state. And NOT the bridge from Generations. Definitely not that lighting. And then i want to live in the sets.

My years as a toddler were spent watching TNG reruns, so the Ent-D is like home. :P

I suppose it was. The only Star Trek III footage I've ever seen is what is in the movie.

I thought all those sets had been permanently struck years ago. Who knew one was still around enough.

I actually liked the Generations bridge actually in terms of lighting, although in fairness I wasn't such a fan of the new side stations. Basically, if you redid the TV bridge but lit it like Generations that would be my choice.
