Use phpBB3 or IP.Board
 

vBulletin is an OK board but it has some major glitches that make it... well... not to bash... suck.

There are problems with recognition of read/unread topics that make it really un-fun to use. I know it's that you probably won't switch now (considering you've paid a license fee for vBulletin) but if there is a chance... phpBB3 and IP.Board are both waaay better.

I agree, especially on the point of Invision - very powerful and versatile software.

I've worked with Epsilon using IPB boards before, we've found them to be very versatile. I'm for switching to them if Paramount can spare the money. Alternatively, Epsilon and I used to use phpBB and it worked quite well. Anything but vBulletin...lol

I've worked with vB, Invision, phpBB, IkonBoard, YaBB etc. for about a decade now, and I haven't been as impressed with any of them as much as vB, even for the security issues. Invision comes closest, but the entire myth about security flaws is, for the most part, completely unfounded.

Yup, and the point of this particular part of the forum is for suggestions. Being the nitpickers we are, we're nitpicking.

Which is exactly why we're talking about it now instead of in two months when there are a boatload of posts to content with. ;)

Invision is the best, but Vbulletin follows a close second, that rest have any issues and holes, trust me im an expert at this stuff :)
