Star Wars fans build full-size Millennium Falcon
 

Well yeah, you're going to need it now that we are building a Death Star! :001_cool:

In order to support normal sized folk (to say nothing of Wookiees), it's going to have to be built slightly larger than the canon 26.7 meters length. It's gonna be about 34 meters long. Some 30 feet high up to the top of the nav dish.

What ever happened to the full size MF mockup that was built for the movies?

I'll be surprised if it still exists....and, that very mock up is what I spake of in that it was not tall enough in its interior to have an average sized man stand up. That's why these guys are going to have to make their ship larger than the canon specs. :)

I've always thought, if I were to win the lotto, I'd buy a big box store-type building somewhere, and recreate the Enterprise set. Just as it was on the Desilu studio floor. (I suppose the folks over at Phase II have already done this, essentially...) Just a passing fancy, I suppose.

Will it be able to do the Kessel run in under 12 parsecs?

The Falcon gets all the glory, but the Tie Fighters are much cooler. I love that sound they make!

Ever watched the old 50's movie This Island Earth? There's a scene in that where the planet is being bombarded by the bad guys with small meteors or something. Pretty sure that make a similar sound like the tie fighters as they scream down. Must try to find it.
