UFO:How did Van Damme end up in this?
Just chanced across this.
Casting aside, anyone waiting on this to come out.:lurk5: At least it has a trailer. |
Link did not work for me, however I will answer your question with a question.
How does Van Damme end up in anything? |
LOL.
But Van Dammit, can't find it on youtube now and was sure it was on there. Heres a webpage with a trailer and all that if you really could be interested. |
I think Timecop is the only thing I've ever seen him in. And I remember it did nothing to change my impression of him, whatever that was.

It's said to have a budget of--wow!--$2.5 million. And the alien ships don't have proper waste-management systems.
It somehow reminds me of Oscar Wilde's dying words: "Either that wallpaper goes, or I do." |

I enjoyed Van Damme in TimeCop (I thought it was one of his better movies), but if you want to see some real acting out of him, rather than a lot of whop and chop, check out a movie called "JCVD". He plays himself, and the story is about him being a down and out action actor who is having problems in a custody battle for his child. When he returns home to Brussels, he gets caught up in a bank robbery, and is thought to be one of the perps. This is a very different Van Damme movie, and I (for it being largely a foreign language film, although there is occasionally some English) enjoyed it immensely.

I think the only Van Damme film that was him alone i've really seen was 1993's Hard Target. Which was ridiculous but I didn't hate it. Never really seen much else with him apart from that old episode of 'Friends' and lately those Coors commercials.

I enjoyed "BloodSport" for its premise, and that it was based on the true story of Frank Dux, BUT, that movie was SOooooooooo full of 80's-esque over-dramatic cheese acting that it is more of a guilty pleasure for me. :)
