Quite a life lived, and a pretty good innings had.

Will he get a State Funeral or something?

starwarsrcks 08-25-2012 12:52 PM

I hope he does get a state funeral and people from all walks of life invited :001_smile:

I can't think of many people who would be more heroic than this guy.

Apparently really modest too and shunning the limelight, may have to look up some old interviews of him. A great man lost, but 82 is a good age.

That'll most likely depend on the family. I suspect that his service record alone in the Navy and Naval Reserve would make him eligible for a military funeral, but again that would be at the request of the family.

Lived to 82... that's not bad.

I've had Space Oddity stuck inside my head ever since our network cut in with this news.

His words will always be remembered: "That's one small step for--man!--one giant leap for mankind."

I was born in the same month as the moon walk....just shortly before that famous I didn't get to experience the thrill of the moment, but thus goes a legend.

RIP Mr. Armstrong.
