Anyway, conditioned on who writes the script and conditioned on the this being another fluffy action movie, Kirk et al fighting against a supernastyevilwicked Mitchellesque Starfleet villain doesn't sound that bad.

I thought it looked a little like that as well, but there seems to be screens there as well so obviously visual effects will be added.

I don't see it as anything to get excited or critical about - it's a leaked snapshot from a couple angles. Not enough to go on for anything much else just now. Characters fighting seems a given anyway by most past productions.

I think the important point here is that is they are trying to subdue him without injury.

Starfleet officers not killing fellow Starfleet officers is hardly surprising.
