"The Captains"
Anyone except me seen this documentary yet?

It debuted last Friday night on TV, and is available for online viewing on the epix website, I also think it was shown at Comic-con. I don't know since I wasn't there, but I know there was a panel discussion about the film involving Avery Brooks, William Shatner, and Patrick Stewart, since there was press about it.

I'd like to open discussion on this forum about it.

Basic information: William Shatner interviews all five Captains, or rather the actors who played them (Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew, Scott Bakula, and Chris Pine). He is attempting to determine common themes or background that might have led them to playing the role of Captain on Star Trek. He elicits their thoughts on life, playing Captain, how it effected their personal lives, etc.

Yeah, It's not apparently available online outside the US, so there's nowt I can do about that.

Somewhere down the line I might catch it somehow.

Yes. At the Vegas Convention last year, Shatner said he was "out there."

Sorry guys, about the U.S. only online viewing. The documentary was made last year, and I am amazed at how old all the captains looked, including Scott B. I think the best moments were the conversations Shatner had with Stewart. They seem to have connected better than Shatner was able to with the other actors that played Captain.

Now I've seen it.
Brooks really was weird...
The funniest thing however was that Stewart immediately realized that warbirds are used by Romulans and not by Klingons. We had some discussion about that here, because the entire STXI team failed to realize this simple fact XD

Does anyone have the link to it?

Here you are Quark,

Ironically, there was a free public screening in Santa Monica, the Monday following its debut on TV. I think Shatner might have made an appearance too. I thought you would have known about it and went.

Sign up for the free trial, and you will be able to stream it instantly, once your subscription is confirmed, that it. :001_cool:

I've watched about half so far, am enjoying it actually. And I agree, Brooks is a bit loopy in this.
