My anticipation for this film never diminishes! It only increases as the months fly by!

I noticed the "Black Hole" poster in the background of one of the scenes in the trailer. It was where the "Action Figures?" derived from the original "Tron" were seen. A cool nod to a less successful attempt at a Disney sci-fi franchise.

Any thoughts on that one being redone?

I just bought The Black Hole on eBay the other day. Awaiting it's arrival! As for a remake of it, I'll get back to you once I've watched it!:001_smile:

I've only ever caught the last few minutes of the original film. So, to be honest I don't really have any feelings about it one way or the other really.

I think that it had (better) potential if it had been made for children (more humorous) or adults (strictly serious). As it was, Disney seemed to try for a movie that appealed to both and in parts it separately did, but made the movie indecisive on who it was appealing to. (IMO) Effects were good for its time though could not compare to SW or even ST.

I've read a bit about it's behind the scenes etc online when announcement was made about the development of a remake.

Seems to have been trying to be one thing and ended up another.

I have to agree with you there. I got a chance to see 7 minutes of the film in 3D at Fan Expo this past weekend and it just made me even more anxious to see it. Every 12 minutes past the hour at the Tron booth they were throwing out free Flynn Lives t-shirts and Identity Disk Frisbees, I was lucky and caught one of each. I also got a chance to play the Tron: Evolution game at the both as well.

Is it just me or does it really seem that Disney wants to kick-start a new franchise out of Tron?

Maybe not so much new, but reintroduced through this sequel? Maybe after all these years it could be considered a "new" franchise though. I want to go see it anyway.
