Guillermo del Toro Steps Down From Directing The Bobbit
http://www.theonering.net/torwp/2010...ts-the-hobbit/
For anyone thinking "Who?"... suffice to say this is really discouraging news, people. I just is. |
Don't know the fellow and I doubt that he would have been better than Jackson who will probably take over the director job.
|
That would be my hope at this point.
|
So, I'm the only one who would have prefered Del Tormo had remained the director? I for one am sorry to see him go...
|
Im starting to wonder if this movie will ever come into production given all the trouble it has had.
|
This is the one Tolkien movie I'm actually quite interested to see, and of course it will take forever to make it...lol
|
My attitude is, we already have the real story. There's no reason this one 'needs' to be made if it can't have a top notch director.
I'd be totally cool with Jackson directing it, except I 'kinda' got the impression he didn't want to go through that again. Wasn't Sam Rami being considered at one point? I feel like that says something about Jackson's enthusiasm to direct another Tolkien movie. |
I got the impression that Del Toro - who probably would have made a good stab of it - simply wasn't willing to wait around any longer to get the movie finally greenlit. Which it presently isn't due to the MGM financial mess at present.
It's a shame. But he has a lot of other projects he wants to do and I don't suppose he can sit and wait forever. |
The Bobbit?
