Hollywood Conspiracy...
Is it just me or is "HOLLYWOOD" pumping out an inordinate amount of movies in the next few years? Do they know something we don't? Are they trying to keep our minds preoccupied? Is there something brewing that we are not aware of?:001_smile:

Yes. They are brainwashing us. They always have been. It's just now faster and easier to make films than 40 years ago so we get more now then people did then.
I am being brainwashed as I write in fact...watching Fringe. |
The number of movies coming out has been steadily increasing over the years, but with the economy going bad, i thought they'd slowed down on releases, and begun to focus more on quality, instead of quantity. If not, they've figured out that Hollywood really is a recession proof industry, so to speak, so they are pouring more money into making movies. No conspiracy, just smart business decisions.

Well, comparatively speaking, compared to other forms of entertainment a cinema ticket is still a reasonably affordable thing. People aren't even being put off by 3D or IMAX ticket prices if the film is right.
As demonstrated by increasingly high grosses and Hollywood's highest ever grossing year in 2009. When it comes to quality I expect it's perception but certainly while there are some fantastic lower budget movies out there to be found, your megabudget blockbusters can certainly be as generic as they have always been. There are always exceptions of course. |
Maybe some type of writers/actor/filmmakers strike? Maybe its information about pre production is now easier to find?
