Change to TMP Enterprise Studio Model

3 Attachment(s)
So I was looking through my Art of Star Trek book at the TMP Enterprise reference shot I've seen a million times:
Attachment 1945
and suddenly noticed something.
I was wondering if anyone knew when this:
Attachment 1946
became this:
Attachment 1947

I've highlighted the changes I'm referring to in the shape of the bridge airlock and shape surrounding the officer's lounge area.
They obviously altered this bit between taking this photo (presumably after the model was all painted up and ready to go) and the actual filming.

Just interested as I never spotted it before!

They refitted the refit?

Seriously though - no answer, but good catch!

Mission specific (ie sitting in drydock) bridge module?:D

WOW.

Even I didn't notice that! And I literally know this ship inside and out!!! I wonder what the story is about this change? Seems rather unnecessary to me...

I could if been a last minute change. It looks like it may have been part of the Phase 2 model.

I'm glad they didn't change it...

That's why I was so surprised- I studied both the ship and that particular picture for hours on end and never spotted it

Yes, it looks like it could be a left over from Phase 2. It also matches some of the concept drawings from TMP production.

It's just one of the many versions of the Refit Enterprise prior to the filming of The Motion Picture.
