What this is about the original characters so why put in Picard just wondering?

As much as I like Stewert and the Picard character any attempt to fit them into the sequel would seem too forced. Time to let the new crew do their thing.

Me too. Though Stewart said the right thing. If he'd said he wouldn;t touch it with a barge pole he would have been slated.

As a TNG fan, I'd like to see him, even if it's just an after credit scene where he welcomes Spock prime back or so :D

I don't think so isn't this all about the original characters without anyone from the prime timeline so in my opinion I don't think it would work it would look forced

Even if he makes an appearance he doesn't have to play Jean-Luc Picard. But i agree, putting a 24th century Picard in the new timeline would not be good. They already have one 24th century visitor, if anything, put Nimoy in again.

I imagine most past cast would answer that they would do a cameo - they have the luxury of knowing it's not likely and if they said no too abruptly would have a backlash to answer to.
