A new Sci-Fi Now interview with Leonard Nimoy reinforces that he will likely not be in Star Trek 2.

Leonard Nimoy: " I have announced my retirement. I will not be doing any more television or movie acting or directing."

With your retirement, it sounds like you won’t be in the next Star Trek film, but is there any word on whether or not William Shatner might be in it?

"I have no idea, in regard to Bill Shatner. I’m quite sure, and I think I can be definitive about the fact, that I will not be in it. I think it’s time for me to get off the stage and make some room for Zachary Quinto, who is the new Spock. I think he’s a wonderful actor, who looks a lot like me. I’m very flattered that the character will be continued by an actor of that caliber. He’s very well-trained and very talented. I have no expectations, whatsoever, of even being asked to be in the next Star Trek film. I cannot speak for JJ Abrams and Bill Shatner. I feel that somehow it was a cheat that the test shuttle with that name never got to fly. It was eventually supposed to, I think, but it would have cost too much to convert for spaceflight from atmospheric testing.

How do the rest of you feel about it? Kilana should have had a chance to re-appear in an episode and possibly even cause a small resistance inside the Vorta hierarchy to believe that Starfleet is not the bad guys in this war. I just wonder how Kilana was doing after getting back into Dominion space.

I went to the Royal screening of Star Trek Nemesis last night at midnight and instead of Will Wheaten, due to shooting for something, Herman F. Zimmerman came along and took over. The event and interview was great! And it did go on for quite a while, but what he said was great and he got to spill the beans on what it was like working with Stuart Baird. He generally said it was a "nightmare" working with him because apart from everyone disliking him, he also made the set changes the way he wanted to do them and have the actors say the lines the way he wanted them to be said.

Zimmerman said, "Patrick was annoyed with him because whenever he would say a long, Stuart would tell him to say it a different way." The crew didn't seem to like working with Baird either. Zimmerman basically said Baird is the reason Nemesis flopped in the box office. There just wasn't enough money for the budget he was going for and yes, although it was nice having the cast and crew back again, having Baird there was a pain in the arse. He (Baird) was the one who wanted to change the lighting on the bridge and give it a more blue hue to it, in addition to adding a gimble to the bridge set.

Eventually, he talked about how he loved working on Deep Space Nine and how those sets were probably the most advanced and difficult sets he ever worked on in all of Star Trek. Then, after we applauded, the movie turned on and there we were!

I'm a bit ticked off (really) that ST is not being re-released with it's "missing footage". Though I have my personal feelings about the movie, I would still go to see it again on the big screen if it were so. Having the cut scenes reintegrated into the movie would make it longer and possibly more complete,(more interesting?). So they would only be able to have one less show an evening because of the length, but I would go to see it!:thumbup:
